Tan Long was responsible for the design, supply and installation of the refrigeration systems for the whole the Lotte F&G Vietnam plant at Long Hau Industrial Park, Tay Ninh (formerly Long An) — covering the freezing lines, the freezer store, the chill store and the production hall air conditioning.
This is a rare project running three different refrigerants in the same plant at the same time: CO2, NH3 and R404.

Why the system uses CO2, NH3 and R404 as refrigerants
The Lotte F&G Vietnam plant runs three refrigerants at once because each suits a different temperature band and a different problem:
- NH3 for the large cooling loads: the highest efficiency and the lowest operating cost, suited to freezing and freezer storage.
- CO2 for the very low temperature zones: it operates at high pressure but is safer than NH3 where it runs into areas with people working.
- R404 for the small, standalone units, where installing a central system is not economical.
Designing a system that combines three refrigerants demands rigorous cooling-load zoning calculations and a far higher standard of safety capability than a single-refrigerant system. Very few contractors in Vietnam can deliver this configuration.
